Person-to-Person Mission

Person-to-Person offers assistance through three key programs: Emergency Assistance, Campership and Scholarship.

Each year our Emergency Assistance Program:
• Provides loans and grants for more than 600 families through our Living Assistance Loans & Grants Program.
• Prevents more than 180 people per year from becoming homeless through our Eviction Mediation Program.
• Provides for expenses, such as prescriptions, not covered by insurance through our Medical Grants Program.
• Provides gently used clothing and linens for more than 34,000 people through our Clothing Center.
• Provides enough groceries to prepare more than 89,000 meals through our Food Pantry.
• Counsels numerous clients in creating a spending plan through our Budgeting Assistance Program.
• Delivers more than 190 new layettes with infant necessities to parents of newborns through Baby Basics.
• Delivers simple, basic furniture such as beds to more than 240 families through our Furniture Program.
• Provides grants and education on tenant/landlord issues through our Housing Resource Center.

Our Holiday Programs:
• Provides a new holiday toy and book to more than 1,780 children through our
Toy Store Program.
• Provides more than 800 families with holiday boxes of food and gifts from local families through our Dove Program.
• Provides more than $50,000 worth of new basic essentials including linens and dishes, and coats and other clothing through our Be A Santa program supported by area employees.

Each year our Campership Program:
• Sponsors more than 600 elementary and middle-school children from low-income families to local established day camps free-of-charge.

Each year our Scholarship Program:

• Our Harriet T. McCorkle Scholarship program provides funds that help close the gap between what college students can raise and earn on their own and what is needed. Funds are allocated toward tuition and book payments to more than 140 students.
