Through this program, hundreds of children attend local summer day camps which provide them with the opportunity to build life skills, make friends, have fun and for some, practice English. Camp offers working parents peace of mind and reduced worry about childcare concerns while keeping children safe. All children considered for Camperships live in low-income households in Stamford and are referred through their schools. Typically, Person-to-Person Camperships serve approximately 15% of the total number of children who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch in Stamford, a primary criterion for consideration.
